A Small Group with a Dream of Serving Expectant Mothers
PDHC began in 1978 as a dream of a few couples who wanted to help expectant women receive compassionate care in central Ohio. Since then, so many others have made this dream their own.
A Humble Start Yields Powerful Results
With $500 and 10 volunteers, the vision of our founders was to reach out with loving and practical alternatives to abortion. This became reality with the opening of the first Care Center and a 24-hour Hotline in January 1981. The first year God blessed their efforts with 3,109 client visits and calls.
Volunteers are Vital to Our Mission
Today, volunteers number in the hundreds, and PDHC serves more than 21,000 women annually through the hotline, chat, email and in person at four Care Centers.
Ultrasounds Save Lives
PDHC has provided free ultrasounds for clients since 1995. The powerful truth of the ultrasound picture is that it has resulted in many abortion-vulnerable clients choosing life for their babies.
Thousands of Abortion-Vulnerable Women Choose Life
Since our inception, more than 3,000 abortion-vulnerable women have chosen life for their children, and at least another 3,000 who were struggling with an abortion decision decided to consider other options after visiting PDHC.
Teaching Youth in Our Schools to Make Healthy Choices
PDHC was one of the first organizations in central Ohio to establish an abstinence education program in the public and private middle and high schools. Today, the Healthy Choices Abstinence Education Program reaches more than 10,000 middle and high school students in central Ohio.
By purchasing products and services you already purchase, PDHC can benefit. Through partnerships in central Ohio, you can continue to painlessly support PDHC. See our Partner Page.
