Q: I need a pregnancy test. Why is it important that I have a missed period?
A: We ask that you be at least 28-31 days from the first day of your last menstrual period in order to ensure the accuracy of the reading of the test. Our tests are medical quality and measure the hormone hCG. According to the manufacturer’s instructions, the most accurate reading occurs after the 28th day of your cycle.
Q: Do I need an appointment for a test?
A: If you walk-in and we have an available appointment we would be glad to help you. However, in order to ensure that you don’t have to wait or come back another day, the best plan is to call ahead for an appointment. We will get you in as soon as possible.
Q: Will my visit be confidential?
A: Definitely. We take your privacy very seriously. We will not share any of your information, or the fact that you are a client, with anyone unless we have written permission from you to do so. If you’d like to come in, but are concerned about confidentiality (because you might know someone who works here or for any other reason) please call our hotline. She will work with you to set up a time that you feel safe to come in. All of your information will be held in the strictest confidence, unless disclosure is required by law or is necessary to protect you or others against harm.
Q: Will it cost me anything?
A: PDHC services are offered at no cost.
Q: Can I get birth control from you?
A: PDHC does not prescribe or refer for birth control. We do have information on all the different methods of birth control and their effectiveness. Call or visit one of our offices if you’d like more information.
Do you have questions regarding your sex life, pregnancy options, STDs and relationships?
When you walk into PDHC, our friendly and low-key staff will make you feel welcome. We want you to be comfortable and at ease at all times while in our clinic, especially while discussing sensitive topics.
