An abundance of donor and volunteer opportunities

There are many ways to become involved as a volunteer with PDHC. For more information about any of these volunteer opportunities, contact the PDHC Program Coordinator at 614-888-8774.

Here are just some of the areas where we accept volunteer assistance:

Intervention Services

• CLIENT OFFICES: PDHC volunteers provide free pregnancy tests, private consultations, informative literature, and community referrals in a loving, non-judgmental environment. We encourage clients to choose sexual chastity and alternatives to abortion, and give them the realistic and caring support needed to make those choices.
• 24-HOUR HOTLINE: Volunteers answer more than 14,000 hotline calls in our office and in their homes each year. Around-the-clock access provides clients with the help they need, when they need it.
• MEDICAL CLINIC: Abortion-vulnerable women can have their pregnancy confirmed by ultrasound and can have health and emotional concerns addressed. Volunteer doctors, ultrasonographers and nurses are needed.
• Other Resources: Volunteers assist clients in finding a wide range of community resources throughout their pregnancies. These resources may include legal services, adoption services, housing referrals, medical services, social services, parenting classes, education, employment, and churches.

Support & Healing Services

• H.E.A.R.T. (Healing the Effects of Abortion Related Trauma): Volunteers facilitate seven-week workshops for women, and men, who have had personal experience with abortion. Participants find forgiveness and healing in a supportive group setting.

  Life Support Teams

  • Prayer Team: This volunteer team insures that all PDHC programs and clients have needed intercessory prayer support. PDHC always needs more intercessors.
  • Special Events Auxiliary: Volunteers organize fund raising events such as PDHC’s Walk for Life, Golf Outing, Banquet, and Baby Bottle Campaign.
  • Helping Hands: Volunteers help with data entry, mailings, copying, clerical jobs, phone calls, and other administrative support duties.
  • Maintenance Team: Volunteers assist with a variety of physical duties such as cleaning, equipment and facilities repair, painting, moving, and gardening.
  • Material Aid: Clients in need receive donated maternity clothes and a wide variety of baby items. We need volunteers to sort and display these materials. To see list of needed items, click on Layette List.
